Monte Watters, Pianist/Entertainer

February 5th, 2010

Let me bring my wide-ranging piano music to your facility or event! I play many styles of music from the 1930′s to today: Swing, pop, standards, blues, country, romantic, easy listening, gospel, and holidays! I have even recorded two CD’s, “Autumn Leaves” and “Christmas Memories”. Count on me for all occasions and special events.

**Think of Monte for your Memory Care residents! He currently performs at multiple Memory Care facilities. He interacts well with memory care residents and finds that music is something they really respond to-helping to improve their quality of life. Monte is also a former long-term-care administrator with professional experience in memory care. Now, in his role as an entertainer, he hopes to bring some joy to memory care residents.

Monte is Portland based but travels widely!

Read a testimonial from this activity director… “I would like to let you know how wonderful Monte Watters is! I have heard many piano players and the first time I heard Monte I was astounded. The man can PLAY the piano. He was engaged the entire time with my residents and had many of them up dancing and singing. We cannot wait to have him back. Thanks to Monte for being a part of our lives. “

More praise for Monte Watters: “We have been enjoying Monte Waters for well over a year now and the residents love him! They pull up chairs and gather around him while he plays. We even have one resident that sits beside him on the piano bench! He has such patience and plays beautifully! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!”

Royal Scottish Country Dance Society-SW Washington State branch

January 21st, 2010

We have been performing at many Vancouver area Senior facilities for quite a number of years under the Vancouver USA Scottish Country Dancers. We recently became a full fledged Branch of the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - home based in Edinburgh! We regularly participate in Kelso’s Festival, Pomeroy Farm’s Herb and Harvest Festivals, and other festivals and activities. Let us come to your facility or event to perform. Audiences can participate-we even have a wheelchair dance! We can also include musicians when they are available (piano, fiddle, bagpipes, and sometimes bagpipes and drum)

A little about Scottish Country Dance…

A typical “dance” consists of a group of “formations” that are put together in an interesting way. After one learns the basic formations, it will be possible to do hundreds of dances. There are over 6000 registered dances, some dating from the 1600′s, and enthusiasts are continually creating new dances. It is exhilarating to dance with a partner, to listen to the Scottish music, and to be part of a team of couples who are supporting one another throughout the dance.
