Curtis Smith-Irish, Scottish and American Folk songs

Curt is a singer and guitar player who performs Irish, Scottish and American Folk songs. He prefers to bring to his performances the upbeat, rowdy songs that you would typically find being performed in a pub in Ireland - with the occasional slow ballad thrown in to mix things up.

A significant portion of Curt’s program consists of songs from contemporary Irish artists such as Celtic Thunder, Celtic Women, and Gaelic Storm. And a big part of his program is the “back story” he shares about the music he presents.

Additionally, Curt aims to recreate the energy of the Folk Revival Movement in 1960’s Ireland and U.S.-with songs from the Clancy Brothers, the Peter, Paul, and Mary, and others. His material ranges from up-tempo songs like “Whiskey in the Jar” to slow ballads such as “Carrickfergus”. Some of his more familiar songs include “If I Had a Hammer” and Gordon Lightfoot’s “Early Morning Rain”.
