Helen Pevzner, Vocalist (Solo and Duet “Fantasia”)

Helen Pevzner has a Doctorate degree in Choral Conducting, and she performs, conducts and teaches in the Portland area. She is available to bring a program of solo vocal music–OR come as Duet “Fantasia”–to your facility or event. Her wide vocal repertoire includes many styles and genres: Classical, world music, musical theater, popular tunes and folk music!

Helen currently directs the Choir at Tigard United Methodist Church. She has won many prestigious conducting awards, including several Grand Prizes at International Competitions of Boys Choirs. Check out Helen’s website, and contact her to arrange a program in the Portland/Vancouver area!

Since 1992, Aurora has blended the strength of women and the power of music to heal and inspire. Led by director and composer Joan Szymko, Aurora Chorus consists of over 100 women from the Portland area. Aurora presents two concerts each season as well as appearing at community outreach events. The chorus demonstrates the uplifting and transformative power of music!

Nuestro Canto is a touring duo that embodies traditional and contemporary music from a wide variety of countries including Mexico, Cuba, Argentina, Brazil, etc. Their performances highlight different styles and rhythms such as corridos, rancheras, boleros, bossa nova, sambas and valses. The sound of Nuestro Canto is the result of the unique combination of the artistic experiences of its members. Let us bring our unique sound to your facility or event!

I sing and play the piano. I conduct singalongs, have organized resident choirs, and perform at birthday parties! Holiday music too! I also offer visiting dog therapy! I hold certification in Gerontology and have extensive experience with musical interaction, self expression and rehabilitation. In addition, I present local workshops designed to educate, motivate, and support residential healthcare activity departments, as well as breathe life into the healthcare arena. I have experience with group settings as well as one on one with coma survivors, MS and stroke recovery patients. I do also provide private sessions customized to the goals of strengthening the participant.
