So much to share, once again&#8230;<br />
First off, a SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:</p>
<p>**ElderAudience is growing to include the Mid-Willamette Valley! Please</p>
<p>spread the word to senior facilities in Salem, Corvallis and Albany that</p>
<p>ElderAudience is also a resource for them! In the coming weeks, new</p>
<p>listings will appear for entertainers and others in the Mid-Valley area.</p>
<p>Also, some of those already listed on ElderAudience are available to</p>
<p>travel to the Mid-Valley. I will do my best to identify listings with</p>
<p>particular geographic limits, and I have also started a Mid-Willamette</p>
<p>Valley category on ElderAudience. If you know of performers, speakers or</p>
<p>destinations based in the Mid Valley that might be suitable, please send</p>

<p>old-time Radio Show populated with impressions of various celebrities and</p>
<p>entertainers from the &#8220;good old days.&#8221; Shows include dramatic readings,</p>

**New Listing! Magician Steve Peterson has been performing his Minor</p>
<p>Miracles Magic show for over 50 years, appearing at fairs, corporate</p>
<p>events and private parties.He offers strolling close up magic as well as</p>
<p>stage shows. Steve is Corvallis-based, but is is available to travel</p>

**Just listed! A fascinating place to visit: The Mission Mill</p>
<p>Museum in Salem. The Mission Mill Museum is devoted to preserving and</p>
<p>sharing the history of the 1834 Oregon Methodist Mission, 1843 Oregon</p>
<p>Pioneers and the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill, which produced wool products from</p>
<p>1889 to 1962.The Mill has been designated an American Treasure by the</p>
<p>National Park Service! See preserved Mission houses, an Oregon Trail</p>
<p>settler&#8217;s house, a historic church and the structures, equipment, and</p>
<p>original water-powered turbine of the Thomas Kay Woolen Mill with related</p>
<p>artifacts. Museum exhibits change frequently&#8211;going on now and into May,</p>
<p>see the &#8220;Facing Statehood&#8221; Exhibition, which celebrates Oregon&#8217;s</p>
<p>sesquicentennial, and interprets the pre-statehood years of Oregon.Lots of</p>

**Just listed! New Century Players is a community theatre in Oregon City.</p>
<p>It is presenting the famous play, TWELVE ANGRY MEN: &#8220;A young man has just</p>
<p>stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. It looks like an</p>
<p>open-and-shut case until one of the jurors begins opening the others&#8217;</p>
<p>eyes.&#8221; Performance dates: February 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, at 7:30 PM , and</p>
<p>February 7 &amp; 14 at 3PM Tickets: $10 for seniors, and Group Discounts</p>

<p>**New listing! Portland Lace Society is a group of lacemakers from the</p>
<p>greater Portland/Vancouver area, who are available to travel to your</p>
<p>facility for demonstrations of their craft.They want you to know that this</p>
<p>&#8220;dying art&#8221; is alive and well. The group members are VOLUNTEERS, so there</p>
<p>is no charge for their visits. Please read their listing under the</p>
<p>Education/Instruction, Speakers, or Hobbyists categories (and see the</p>
<p>gorgeous picture).<br />
OTHER NEWS!</p>
<p>** The Just for Fun Singers, who are listed on ElderAudience, continue to</p>
<p>be available, but are no longer travelling to facilities beyond the</p>
<p>Mid-Willamette Valley because they are based in Salem.This mixed part</p>
<p>choral group of about 90 singers &#8220;sing for the fun of it because it keeps</p>
<p>us young!&#8221; Their ages range from 50 to 94. For 2010, their musical theme</p>
<p>is &#8220;Let All the World in Every Corner Sing&#8221;. Just For Fun&#8217;s performances</p>
<p>are NO CHARGE, although they gratefully accept donations. Read about Just</p>

<p>**Anyone out there interested in participating in a Beanbag baseball</p>
<p>competition with other senior living communities? Michele from Courtyard</p>
<p>Village in Raleigh Hills has asked me to spread the word: &#8220;Do you have a</p>
<p>bean bag baseball team? Would you like to play  teams from other</p>
<p>communities? Hi, I&#8217;m Michele, the activity director from Courtyard</p>
<p>Village-Raleigh Hills. We have a team which would love to play others. If</p>
<p>there is enough interest, would people be interested  in a &#8220;league&#8221; for</p>
<p>the summer?  We would have to come up with general rules for playing one</p>

** It can be a bit overwhelming to look through all the listings in our</p>
<p>Music category, but when you have a moment, click on Matthew Kern! The</p>
<p>Oregonian has praised Matthew&#8217;s piano music as &#8220;wildly romantic&#8221; and</p>
<p>&#8220;wonderful&#8221;.Matthew began playing the piano at the age of three. You may</p>
<p>well have heard him play, as he served as the house pianist for the</p>
<p>Nordstrom in downtown Portland for nearly ten years! He has performed at</p>
<p>numerous local venues including Pazzo Ristorante, the Multnomah Athletic</p>
<p>Club, the Waverly Club, the Racket Club, the Hilton Portland, Portland’s</p>
<p>White House, the Heathman, Benson, and Governor Hotels, the Portland City</p>
<p>Grill, and many, many more.Matthew was raised on the music of Frank</p>
<p>Sinatra, Nat King Cole,Ella Fitzgerald and jazz greats such as Louis</p>

<p>**Now is the time to look ahead to St. Patrick&#8217;s Day! A fine way</p>
<p>to celebrate it is with Beltaine, the group featuring hammered dulcimers,</p>
<p>guitar, flute, marimbula and vocals. The Beltaine trio plays Celtic and</p>
<p>traditional music from around the world, and they keep it lively with</p>
<p>spritely tunes, stories and jokes!Beltaine performs throughout the</p>

<p>**ElderAudience-listed Elvis Tribute artist Mark Stevenz has been winning</p>
<p>Elvis contests all over the place!Recently, he competed in a two night</p>
<p>Elvis contest at Spirit Mountain Casino, on what would have been Elvis</p>
<p>Presley&#8217;s 75th birthday.Wearing a spectacular black &amp; white jumpsuit</p>
<p>replica of one that Elvis wore in the early 1970&#8242;s called the Cisco Kid,</p>
<p>Mark received a standing ovation for his rendition of &#8220;My Way&#8221; the first</p>
<p>night which landed him in the top three. The top three contestants from</p>
<p>Friday night were then asked back for the finals on Saturday.  On</p>
<p>Saturday, Mark came out in Leather, a replica of the leather outfit Elvis</p>
<p>wore in the &#8220;1968 Comeback&#8221; TV Special.  A fast and edgy &#8220;Jailhouse Rock&#8221;</p>
<p>and a powerful rendition of &#8220;If I dream&#8221; led Mark to a final showdown</p>
<p>between the top two contestants. Ray-vis of Portland, OR chose to sing the</p>
<p>popular gospel song &#8220;Peace in the Valley&#8221; and Mark chose the powerful</p>
<p>gospel song &#8220;How Great Thou Art&#8221;.  Sending chills thoughout the crowd,</p>
<p>Mark nailed the highs and lows of the powerful song and received two</p>
<p>standing ovations to garner him the win.This past October, Mark also</p>
<p>received first place when he competed against 15 other &#8220;ELVII&#8221; at an Elvis</p>
<p>Contest in Gresham.And in late February, he will be traveling to Yuma,to</p>
<p>compete in the Elvis Tribute Artist contest at the ELVIS EXPO FESTIVAL. In</p>
<p>addition, he hopes to compete at the &#8220;Chinook Winds Casino Ultimate Elvis</p>
<p>contest preliminary&#8221; in Lincoln City, OR at the end of April and the</p>
<p>&#8220;Ultimate Elvis Contest preliminary&#8221; @ the Penticton Elvis Festival in</p>
<p>Penticton, BC in late June.  The winner of each Ultimate Elvis Contest</p>
<p>Preliminary  qualifies to compete in the finals of the  &#8220;Ultimate Elvis</p>
<p>Tribute Artist&#8221;  national contest in Memphis, TN (sponsored by Elvis</p>
<p>Presley Enterprises). The winner of the national contest receives of the</p>
<p>$20,000, along with the title of &#8220;The Ultimate Elvis&#8221; and a contract with</p>
<p>Legends in Concert in Las Vegas.Amid all this, Mark is still performing</p>
<p>locally and available to entertain at your facility&#8211;so please check out</p>

<p>**What about some old time fiddle music to cheer us up in this</p>

<p>time fiddle music of years ago. They say about themselves: &#8220;This is the</p>
