Portland Puppet Museum- Unique Exhibits, Tours, Workshops, & Performances!

Located at 906 SE Umatilla St in the historic Sellwood District of Portland, Oregon,  Portland Puppet Museum is your place to learn about all things Puppet, and let loose your inner child.

Fun for all ages! (Yes, big people are always welcome) Open Thursday – Sunday 2-8 pm Museum Admission is always FREE! There may be charges for performances and workshops, see below for more information.

Portland Puppet Museum is one of only a few puppet museums on the west coast (there are less than 7 in the United States), and is known as one of Portland’s  “best kept secrets”. The museum rotates exhibits, providing fresh artistically displayed puppets. Exhibit themes have included Holidays, Portland History, American History, World Puppet History, Puppets in Movies and TV, Ventriloquists, & more! New exhibits and special events keep customers returning!

Scheduled performances, adult (PG rated) puppet nights, and family-friendly events occur frequently at the museum. Portland Puppet Museum even offers 3-hour puppet-building workshops! Inquire for details!

-Wheelchair Ramp? None – There is a two inch step up from the sidewalk which regular wheel chairs can be lifted over. Unfortunately, electric wheel chairs CANNOT be accommodated.

-Public Transit Available? Trimet Bus 70 comes closest to the museum (Three blocks away)


RESTROOM ACCOMMODATONS: Restroom is located in rear of the museum, and it is up four stairs from museum level, with a stout railing to assist your progress.
