Praise for Sunset Traffic Jam: “The Sunset Traffic Jam Band is amazing. Our residents at Friendsview Retirement Community adore them. We hired them to come play for our Summer Family BBQ 2012. They were personable, professional, enjoyable, funny, on-time, equipped with a PA sound system and most importantly, musically appropriate for ALL of our residents and family. Their repertoire and delivery were pleasing to all the attendees of the party, from family members, to residents, to staff, to independent living folks that pulled up their lawn chairs (it was outdoors) just to hear it! Nobody wanted the night to end! Our residents are still talking about the band and want to know when they will return. I can’t say enough good things about them. If you are looking for a band that can relate to and play to your audience, they are surely a wonderful pick. I give them the highest rating possible.” Lisa S., Activities and Social Service Coordinator at Friendsview Retirement Community

Susan Patterson: Poetry & Talks on Topics of Tea and more!

August 27th, 2011

Welcome to the World of Susan Patterson, presenting poetry on the topic of tea, as well as talks on Tea and more!

I offer readings from my books of poetry (Musings with a Cuppa-The Poetry of Tea, and Heart to Heart-Considered Sentiments for Teatime) and from an English radio show on which I broadcast weekly.  The poetry is life affirming, funny, serious, and sometimes saucy! **I also offer talks on tea, especially “How to make a good cup of tea every time” as well as the history of tea and types of tea.  In addition, my third book, Tom and Irma~Chronicles of the 1950′s, has just been released. Readings and discussions from this book are sure to be a hit with your audiences.  It will be my pleasure and privilege to share all of this with you.

PORTLAND/VANCOUVER AREA

Praise for Susan Patterson:

“…a lovely reminder that our most precious times are often found in the humble moments of everyday life. Settle in your favorite chair, with a cup of tea, and allow Earlene to guide you back to the glorious grace of calm and quiet.” – Cheryl Snow Executive Director Clackamas Arts Alliance

I asked Susan Patterson to do a program for our Garden Club’s tea in August sight (heard) unseen.  What a wonderful and pleasant surprise we all had.  She has a knack for reading poetry that keep you wanting  more. Her poems are not the rhyming ones, but ones that pertain to life  and that you can easily understand. I know you will not be disappointed just like we were not. We have asked her to join us again at our Christmas meeting.” Dolores Smith, Oak Lodge Garden Club

“How fortunate you are to have Earlene Grey (Susan Patterson) presenting one of her very excellent poetry readings for your group. I have attended several of her readings and always find them to be not only entertaining but also delightfully enlivening.  I know that your group will truly enjoy her visit.” Maria Vaughan

Words of Praise for Gail Hand:

“Gail and her dogs Zippy and Zoe have been sharing their laughter yoga/pet  therapy visits for over a year now here at Laurelhurst Village. Her  program is a fun-filled, fast-paced hour, full of exercise including  abdominal/facial workouts, while lifting the spirits of every resident.  At the end of Gail’s program, they have all helped turn the frowns upside
down. She’s a breath of fresh air! I would highly recommend her  program!! ” Kris, Activities Director, Laurelhurst Village
