Testimonials:

I would like to let you know how wonderful Irilla Swanson is. She is a  regular! Irilla is pleasant to be around and does some amazing art work with our residents. She is engaging as well and seems to know many of my residents by name. She is on our schedule once a month and no one will fill her spot. Thanks to Irilla for being a part of our lives”  Kim B., Gresham

“Irilla is a very gifted artist and teacher who helps bring out everyone’s creative, artistic license. The residents always go home with a piece of beautiful art that’s a “framer!” and also a wonderful gift for friends & relatives. We’re very thankful to have Irilla here!”  Kris, Activities Director, Laurelhurst Village”

“I feel that Irilla has opened up a whole new world for our residents here at the Hazelwood Retirement Community by teaching them watercolors. She is very patient, helpful, and explains how to paint in a very user friendly way. She is always on time and our residents really look forward to her classes. I myself as the Activities Coordinator have developed a wonderful working relationship she always understands my needs and has been very open to what needs to be done in order to make each class successful. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking a great instructor. “ Angela H., Activities, Hazelwood Retirement

“Regarding my wonderful watercolor teacher Irilla Swanson How fortunate I am to have Irilla for my teacher!! She has taught me so many things to improve my paintings. She is so patient and helpful with her whole class. I wish she could teach every week here at Laurel-Parc where I live.  I came into her class after 30 years of not painting and how lucky I am to have her as a teacher.  Any student who has her as a teacher is very fortunate!”  Irilla’s student  Dottie M., Resident  at Laurel Parc

“Painting under the instruction of Irilla Swanson has been one of my most fun and rewarding experiences of the past five years! The class I attend meets twice a month; and I look forward to each one with avid anticipation. We have a real spirit of camaraderie – and accomplishment. While Irilla is an accomplished artist in her own right, she is also an excellent teacher, who has brought this novice painter a long way in a short time. I hate to have to miss a class for any reason and have even produced a few pieces of work that make me say, “Wow! I cannot believe I actually painted that!” Virginia T., Resident at Rosewood Park Retirement

“Irilla, Just a short note to thank you for your oil painting of our daughter, Claudia, holding our grandson taken from a thirty-three year old photo. You captured the facial expression of her saying “aren’t you proud of me”. We love the painting and upon presenting it to our daughter and grandson, they love it also. Thanks again”. George  S.,  Resident at Glenwood Place”
