Fun with Tom and Jane- Fun and Interesting Arts & Crafts for Seniors

9-26-51 Jane art teacher with studentFun with Tom & Jane is a collaboration of two experienced and accomplished art instructors who have developed art curricula for all ages and every level of artist. Tom and Jane began working together as art teachers at the Village Home Resource Center for home schooled students in Beaverton. Their collaboration progressed into co-directing the “Art in Science Summer” Day Camp for children 9-12 at Leach Botanical Garden. Together they discovered their true passion is working with seniors on a wide variety of arts and crafts projects tailored to their specific interests and abilities.

Jane Nash is a creative professional with many years experience in designing and producing original artwork for private clients, galleries, ad agencies, retailers and designers. She owned and operated a professional residential and commercial mural painting business in the Desert Cities of Southern California producing painted murals in many areas of the US. www.janenashmurals.com in addition she has developed and presented workshops and lectures as well as designing and delivering art classes for adults and children using a wide variety of media and techniques.
Tom McCarley is an established potter whose work has appeared in numerous national and international juried competitions. www.Thomaspricemccarley.com. He has extensive experience creating K-12 and adult education curricula, especially for art-related programs. In addition, he developed and taught two Professional Development courses at Trinity College in Washington, DC for inner city teachers focused on using art the classroom and developing classroom techniques to increase students’ self esteem.

Fun with Tom & Jane offers a wide range of interesting, fun arts and crafts for seniors. The sessions are usually 2 hours long. Some are tailored to only one session and others require two sessions to complete. Any weekly or monthly rotation schedule can be accommodated. A current memory care artist said, “I look forward to them coming. Being with Tom and Jane makes me feel young, with-it and better about myself.” And that is the goal!
