Emmy Horowitz- Sings 60’s Classics and Jazz Standards
As a child in the 60s, and a teenager in the 70s, I listened to all kinds of music, always singing along. Growing up in New York City, I sang in high school rock bands with the sons of Jerry Lieber, half of the legendary songwriting/production team Lieber-Stoller, who authored songs such as Jailhouse Rock and Love Potion #9, and folk icon Judy Collins. A true lover of song, I enjoy revisiting some of the classic 60s sounds of my childhood–from great pop vocalists like Dusty Springfield to Motown, and from the soulful blues of the great Ray Charles and Etta James back to Bacharach/David–alongside Great American Songbook and old jazz standards including tunes by Duke Ellington and Cole Porter.
I am happy to arrange a quieter, lounge-style set for background music, or mix in a variety of up-tempo material to get folks dancing–even in their seats. I sing accompanied by high-quality instrumental tracks and bring my own portable PA system and all other equipment.
Some of the songs I do are:
Anyone Who Had a Heart
Baby It’s You
Don’t Get Around Much Anymore
Every Time We Say Goodbye
Going Out of My Head
Hallelujah I Love Him So
I Only Want to Be with You
I’m in the Mood for Love
It Had to Be You
Let’s Do It, Let’s Fall in Love
The Nearness of You
Piece of My Heart
Since I Fell for You
Son of a Preacher Man
They Can’t Take That Away from Me
To Sir with Love
You Don’t Know Me
You Made me Love You
I have also worked for many years providing caring-touch massage to elders in assisted-living residences, and really enjoy these communities; I love to mingle with members of the audience before and after my set 🙂
Looking forward to setting up an engagement at your facility in the PORTLAND/VANCOUVER, CENTRAL OREGON, WESTERN area and singing for you soon! At the present time, I am happy to perform my first show free of charge!
