Angel Pilato- Memoir Speaker (Vietnam, Air Force, 1960s)

Dr. Angelica ‘Angel’ Pilato. USAF (Ret.) Speaker, Storyteller, Author, (Vietnam, The Sixties)

Her talk “How Being Part of History Turned into a Memoir” highlights the events of the Sixties and how they affected her decision to join the Air Force at the height of the Vietnam conflict. She was the first Air Force Woman Officer to manage an Officers’ Club and the first woman to run an O-Club on a fighter base in Southeast Asia, which gives her a unique perspective on the war. After five years on active duty she joined the Air Force Reserves and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Born in Rochester, New York, she earned her Bachelors in Food Management from Rochester Institute of Technology and a doctorate on an EPDA Fellowship from Oregon State University. Dr. Pilato has held management positions at a Fortune 500, hi-tech company, a top-10 Northwest University, and a non-profit organization.
