** Writer and Storyteller Sandra de Helen, who is listed on ElderAudience, has been invited to present “Copperheads and Common Women”, a series of monologues, to the Women Playwrights International Conference in Mumbai, India this Fall! Sandra tells me that these pieces are about Maggie and her granddaughter, the relationship between them, and Maggie’s search for love throughout her life from age 18 to 78. **Celtic Trill is a duo of Celtic Harp and Flute that shares its musical talents with the community by playing mainly for retirement and assisted living facilities and senior centers. They also play concerts, and provide special music for weddings, birthday and anniversary celebrations and other events. **Let the newly listed Elsie Stuhr Cabaret Chorus entertain you! This senior choir, directed by well known pianist/conductor Jeffrey Kauffman, has been performing around town for years with a mix of choral and solo material. The Cabaret Chorus will travel to your facility, and they are FREE of CHARGE. Check them out in the Music category.
**The newly listed Oregon Historical Society, located in downtown Portland, has many wonderful exhibits, and provides guided tours by arrangement. Group discounts are available. And look at this! For your residents who are not able to travel to the Society, there is the “Traveling Trunk” program. **For those nostalgia buffs out there…we have just listed Golden Age Radio, with Richard Jackson. Richard brings back the Golden Age in his presentations filled with radio highlights, pictures of the stars, audience participation, and a live re-broadcast of an original radio show. **Donn Rochlin,Pianist and Speaker, has just become listed on ElderAudience!Donn has recorded a CD, is a composer, motivational speaker and published author. With Donn’s background as a keynote speaker and seminar leader, along with experience as a Musical Director for theater companies, his presentations and performances are sure to engage your audience. **We have recently welcomed PSU Senior Adult Learning Center (SALC) to ElderAudience. Did you know that Oregon residents age 65 and older are welcome to take classes at PSU on a no-credit audit basis and pay NO TUITION? PSU offers over 5000 classes each term, and virtually all of them are open to seniors. Auditors are admitted to classes if space is available (i.e., after all paying students have been accommodated). No academic credit is awarded. Some classes require payment of a fee, for lab or materials.
