5-17-09 E Mail update

Hi from Pam at ElderAudience! Some new listings to share with you, etc.: –Just for Fun Singers is a large Salem based choral group who can arrange to travel to your facility (with plenty of notice)and they perform free of charge (although donations for travel appreciated)! Their theme this year is “Oregon150″ in honor of Oregon’s 150 years. Check them out under Music. –A newly listed Outing for theater lovers and those with an “itch” to perform is Lunacy Stageworks. Lunacy Stageworks is a theatre group in southeast Portland presenting two full scale productions each year. They offer 2-for-1 matinee tickets! They also hold periodic “Open Mic” nights where anyone with a talent (traditional or wacky) can step up and perform! Check them out under Theatre or Outings. –The Oregon Garden in Silverton is a lovely place all year ’round, but especially now! There are MANY different small gardens on the grounds, as well as a cafe and gift shop. They have a narrated tram experience that is quite informative, and visitors can get on and off at will. Find the Oregon Garden’s listing under Nature/Parks and Outings. Not new but worth a mention… –The Rice NW Museum of Rocks and Minerals in Forest Grove is not only a fascinating destination, but they also have a program they can bring out to your facility! Please check out their listing under Museums or Outings and contact them directly for more details! –Weavers Tale Retreat Center is probably known to many of you. Weavers Tale can also bring a program to you. Please view their listing under Nature/Parks and Outings, and click on their website for more information! –I caught one of our listed musicians, Greg Clarke, at the Hillsdale Farmers’ Market this morning, and was reminded how great he is. His bluegrass banjo tunes were the perfect accompaniment to the sunshine, fresh air and abundance on display at the market. Greg also plays the mandolin, fiddle, guitar and sings. Please check him out under Music and have him entertain at your place! ElderAudience keeps growing and adding listings. I hope you enjoy browsing the site and finding offerings to add to your activities calendar! Also, please tell anyone who may not yet know about the site to send me an e mail at pam@elderaudience.com, so that they may be entered in our next prize drawing for a free performance by one of our listed entertainers! Another one is coming up soon! If you know of families who are planning special anniversaries, birthdays or other events that focus on seniors, please steer them to ElderAudience to find entertainment! You don’t need to be a senior facility to use the site!

Hope you are enjoying our spring weather!
