Here are some items to pass along to you…
**Portland’s OASIS just announced two interesting classes being held on
Saturday, January 9: #400, “Preserving Family Memories in the Digital Age”,
will help you document and save family memories forever by creating a
multi-media slide show using your personal computer. 10:30-12:30, OASIS
large Classroom (downtown Portland), fee $7. Also, Class #234 is “Aztec
Eagles: Forgotten WWII Heroes”, includes a viewing of the film The
Forgotten Eagles, which tells the story of the legendary “Aztec Eagle”
fighter pilots. Question and answer session to follow, featuring local
Historian and Journalist Sig Unander. 1:30-3:30, OASIS large classroom,

**Another lifelong learning organization to check out is Portland State
University’s RAPSU (Retired Associates of Portland State University), a
membership organization for ANYONE 50 and older, presenting programs of
intellectual stimulation and fellowship in the Smith Hall Multicultural
Center at Portland State University.(room 228) The RAPSU programs take
advantage of the many resources offered at PSU and the cultural
institutions located nearby. Dues are $15 for singles and $25 for couples.
Regular meetings are usually held on the first two Thursdays of the month
with no meeting in the summer. On January 7 from 1-2pm,(Reception begins at
12:30)there will be a program by Consumer Educator Althea Rodgers,
speaking on “Current Developments in Consumer Fraud.” The January 14 program
will highlight “The City Club of Portland: An Opportunity for Civic
Engagement”, and include the City Club’s Executive Director, Research

**Pleased to announce a NEW listing in Vancouver! Magenta Theater produces
4 general audience shows of family entertainment each year, along with one
more adult content thriller/suspense production each October.See more

their February show, “Crossing Delancey” (you may have seen the movie),
about a Isabelle, a modern young woman who lives alone and works in a
bookshop. When she is not pining after a handsome author, she is visiting
her grandmother in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.This delightfully nosey old
lady and her friend the matchmaker have found a “good catch” for
Isabelle– Sam the handsome pickle vendor.So who will Isabelle choose? Or
will she choose at all? February 12th,13th,19th,20th,25th,26th,27th at

**One of our more unusual musical entertainers is Uncle Yascha (aka Gerson
Robboy) who sings many original tunes and plays accordian–one local
activity director told me he plays for her residents on a monthly basis
and that he is one of their favorites! She describes his music as “Unique”
and “almost quirky in nature, but definitely grows on you!” Check out

**If you haven’t already been there, (or even if you have), plan a
wonderful lunch or dinner at the The Stone Cliff Inn, a beautiful
restaurant overlooking the Clackamas River and Carver Bridge in Oregon
City! The
Stone Cliff offers a reasonably priced Northwest inspired menu, and it is
